JORELL LEGASPI

My 15-year career in creative communications began in music marketing, where I discovered the incredible potential of multimedia and design in shaping human experiences. I thrive in challenging and changing environments, driven by collaboration, 'next' practices, and new ways of thinking. Throughout my journey, I developed a multi-disciplinary approach to storytelling, eventually expanding my professional scope into arts and cultural leadership, branding, strategic planning, and development in cultural institutions, museums, and creative start-ups in Doha, Cairo, Manila, and San Francisco.

I completed my master's degree in Museum and Gallery Practice at University College London's international campus in Qatar. My final dissertation brought me to the Philippines, where I examined the role of independent artist-run initiatives on creative placemaking and urban revitalisation in Metro Manila's inner cities. There, I also spent some time teaching and mentoring future cultural entrepreneurs at the School of Design and Arts of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and the SoFA Design Institute, in addition to being a destination branding and publications consultant for Taguig City.

My love for photography, visual language and publishing can be seen in some of my most memorable projects, which have been featured on Middle East editions of Harper's Bazaar, Sur La Terre and Esquire, Qatar Happening, Abode and Glam magazines, in addition to advertising campaigns for Qatar Airways, Ooredoo, Vodafone, Marriott, and Intercontinental Hotels.
